From the very first year of their five year long study-programme, SUPINFO students must carry out a yearly internship. These are as many tests during which a student must gain and demonstrate a real practical know-how. The pragmatic approach of SUPINFO's education as well as the preparation to the professional certifications offered by our partners in the industry (Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Sun, Apple, IBM, etc.) offer our students the undeniable added advantage of being immediately operational.
These internships constitute fabulous opportunities to gain new skills within the business world. Students discover hierarchy, work hours, customer relations, economical constraints, marketing, etc...
It is a well know fact that job offers posted by companies generally require professional experience. At the same time, over 40% of students think that their lack of professional experience is their main weakness when looking for a job. This is the reason why SUPINFO requires its students to carry out a total of up to 22 months of mandatory internships throughout their 5 year long general education. If the students choose to also take advantage of the educational partnerships at their disposal which allow for up to 2 days a week of work within a company, they can put forward a real and valuable professional experience upon graduating. This is an area where SUPINFO students generally stand-out compared to students with other backgrounds.
Post-secondary preparatory years
The programme rich in technology in the first and second years of SUPINFO"s integrated preparatory course allow companies to benefit from immediately operational students. The internship deals with the analysis and the design of Information systems. The internship is carried out over a minimum period of 2 months (3 months are generally advised) between July 1st and October 31st for the first year and for a minimum period of 3 months during the same during the second year.
Graduate and Postgraduate years
The internships deals with the design and execution of network or software engineering projects and last 3 months between July 1st and October 31st in the third and fourth years and 6 months in the final 5th year. This last internship is subject to an end-of-studies viva voce.
