“The IT industry currently recruits over 50% of new graduates holding a science major”

The IT industry recruits over 50% of the new graduates holding a science major. Indeed, IT engineers play an essential part in modern businesses. Of course, they take part in the design and implementation of high-tech information systems but they are also increasingly entrusted with the management of entire IT departments, production control, technology integration, and finally with team management.

“An industry enjoying growth on a global scale”

Over two thirds of IT related businesses encounter hiring difficulties. Professionals deplore having to battle to find really talented engineers.

With the crash of the Dot-com bubble, the market has become more stable and considerably more demanding. This is due to businesses investing on an increasingly larger scale in high technologies, to the globalisation of the economy and to the increasingly important part software and computer services play in boosting business competitiveness.

The shortage in trained professionals is even more apparent today with the increasing number of people reaching the age of retirement and who, therefore, must be replaced.

This is why companies expect their IT professionals to be, not only information systems specialists with excellent scientific and technical knowledge, but also leaders with a strong command of management and integration.

“100% of SUPINFO graduates find a job within 3 months of graduating”

Figures show that 100% of all SUPINFO students who graduated in the last four years found a job within 3 months of leaving school.

As opposed to many non-specialised higher education schools, where the traditional educational structure remains, SUPINFO has perfectly understood the specificities of the IT industry. Going well beyond a mere specialisation in computer science, SUPINFO answers the business needs by training young students with a passion for computer science and provides them with the necessary tools to become immediately operational highly competent technicians with strong managerial skills.

“A training acclaimed by the IT Industry world leaders”

SUPINFO has avoided falling into the trap of an overly technical training which offers very few opportunities in computer and management related careers. The SUPINFO education program is widely acclaimed as one of the best available today, both by the IT industry and IT related businesses worldwide.

“In most countries, the duties and responsibilities of IT professionals are not controlled nor regulated by any professional organisation or commission.”

Today’s enterprises are well aware that skilled computer engineers, whose duties and responsibilities are not controlled nor regulated by any professional organisation or commission, are no longer theorists in possession of a sole scientific knowledge ; neither are they “super technicians” proficient in a few advanced technologies. The IT industry considers the former to have knowledge that is too general, while the latter are now too often being replaced by low-cost off-shore expertise based in Asia or in Eastern European countries. Skilled IT engineers are not only passionate scientists in possession of a genuine know-how; they are architects capable of designing and innovating and they must be willing and able to acquire new competences in order to integrate and manage technologies in the company’s best interest.

Only such professionals will rise to the best positions in the industry.

“Only skilled IT professionals, genuine architects in possession of a real knowledge and know-how, will rise to the best positions”

A recent survey on the positions held by over 4 500 SUPINFO alumni has revealed that, in the past few years, our students (most of whom are hired before they even graduate) have enjoyed great mobility and an extensive choice of careers within businesses worldwide. SUPINFO alumni are found throughout all hierarchy levels: information systems manager, production manager, marketing, sales or even human resources manager; they can also aspire to move up quickly: from a project manager’s to a general manager’s position for example. Many also choose to create and run their own business.

SUPINFO, The International Institute of Information Technology, is fully aware of the great opportunities provided by the  IT industry and is  committed to continue answering its needs in constant evolution. Today, a SUPINFO alumnus is in an enviable position: he can choose to work in practically any sector of employment.
