SUPINFO opens in Marrakech

SUPINFO announces the opening of its third Moroccan campus at the beginning of the 2009-2010 academic year.

Enrol now on: http://enrolment.supinfo.com.

The Marrakech campus is located in a residential area.

High speed Internet access, a wireless network backed up by a wired one, Internet telephony (VoIP)... the Moroccan students will also benefit from technological resources of the same high standards and identical to those found in other SUPINFO campuses in France, China, Canada, UK, USA and the rest of the world.

In the same way the syllabus and teaching are of the same quality as at any other SUPINFO school in the world : at the end of their studies students in Marrakech will receive the Paris diploma.

The Marrakech campus will form an integral part of the worldwide SUPINFO network , enabling its students to make full use of the mobility opportunities offered by SUPINFO: each year they may choose the site at which they wish to study and may even visit other SUPINFO campuses during the course of the academic year and have lessons there for a few days or even weeks.

In order to guarantee the uniformity of teaching given in Morocco, all the SUPINFO laboratories which were created in collaboration with the worldwide IT leaders (Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Apple, Mandriva, Sun, Novell, Oracle...) are present at the Marrakech campus.

The 5 year SUPINFO International Master of Science course will be available in Morocco within the next 3 years.

You can apply for a place now.

A few words about Marrakech:

Marrakech (in Arabic : Mûrrakûsh, مراكش) also known as the Pearl or Gateway of the South as well as the Red or Ochre Town, is nestled at the foot of the Atlas mountains.

240 km separate Casablanca and Marrakech.
The town was founded in 1062 by Youssef Ibn Tachfin, the first king of the Almoravides dynasty. In the Orient in olden times Morocco went by the name of Marrakech, and this name has remained in use today in Iran, the word Morocco coming from the corruption of the Spanish for Marrakech : Marruecos.

Today Marrakech has 1 million inhabitants (census of 2004) spread over an area of 6,2 km². The population density reaches 350 inhabitants per hectare. It is the 4th largest town in Morocco after Casablanca, Rabat and Fes. The town is divided into two different parts: the Medina or old town (surrounded by walls 10 km in length) and the new town divided into two main areas: Guéliz and Hivernage. Constructed by the French during their colonisation of Morocco, Guéliz is now the commercial centre of the town. Hivernage contains many hotel complexes. The town has been expanding for a number of years notably towards the west with new residential areas springing up in the Targa region and the extension of Avenue Mohammed VI.
