SUPINFO Brittany in Rennes 8 place du Colombier 35000 Rennes rennes@supinfo.com
Thanks to its strong presence, SUPINFO has established regional offices on the national territory for many years. Today SUPINFO affirms its desire to expand in Brittany by opening a school in Rennes from the 2008 - 2009 academic year, thus allowing young people from Rennes to pursue professional IT studies in their area. |
Through this launch, SUPINFO continues its national presence by providing SUPINFO schools in Brittany as its faculties in Nantes and Saint-Malo are not easily accessible for the Rennes students.
High-speed internet access, WiFi access wired with a landline network, VoIP...The students of Rennes will thus benefit from the same technological resources as those in the other SUPINFO sites in France, China, Canada, the United Kingdom or anywhere in the world.
Similarly, the courses and educational material will be delivered to the same global SUPINFO standard: in fact, at the end of their course, the students in Britanny will be awarded the SUPINFO Paris diploma and it will only be achieved by adhering to the high-quality standards set by the school.
SUPINFO Brittany in Rennes will be an integral part of the global SUPINFO network, thus enabling its students to fully take advantage of the mobility opportunities offered by SUPINFO: each year, they can freely choose at which of the various SUPINFO sites they wish to study. They can even visit different SUPINFO sites throughout the academic year, attending classes for a few days or even weeks.
Moreover, in order to ensure the uniformity of training delivered at SUPINFO Brittany, all the SUPINFO laboratories are supplied with equipment from the world IT leaders (Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Apple, Mandriva, Sun, Novell, Oracle...) and will be open at the beginning of the academic year.
The full 5-year curriculum of the SUPINFO International Master of Science will be available in Rennes within a maximum delay of 3 years.

A few words about Rennes

|
Rennes is a French city, the capital of the department Ille-et-Vilaine in the Brittany region, as well as one of the historic capitals of the Duchy of Brittany, which lies in the east of Brittany along the banks of La Vilaine.
A university town since the eighteenth century, Rennes has become one of the largest French academic centres with 60,000 students divided between the universities Rennes 1 and Rennes 2 Haute Bretagne, and 28 other institutes of higher education. All of this would, however, be insignificant if the relationships between the universities and companies were not firmly established. |
|
An administrative twon (25% of jobs in the urban area are in the public sector) after the printing (Oberthür, Ouest-France) and the automobile industry, Rennes has become one of the European front runners in the field of new technologies and IT.
With 20,000 high-level jobs, it is the biggest town in France to register strong growth in its senior posts in the last ten years: higher education teachers, research executives and business services providers are highly developed.
Employment in Rennes makes up 25% of jobs in Britanny and 70% of jobs in the department, with a total of 247,000 jobs. At the end of 2006, an unemployment rate of 6.5% was recorded, which was significantly lower than the national average.
