FOREIGN STUDENTS
Each year, over 130 000 students from all over the world come to France to study mostly in Universities and higher education institutions. Foreign students can study at SUPINFO in the same conditions as French students as long as they hold the administrative documents allowing them to study and live in France. Foreign students can apply to 3 types of grants:
- grants given out by the French government: students must apply for these grants by contacting the cultural department of the French Embassy or Consulate in their country. For more informatoin, you can also check the website of the French Foreign Office (http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/) or the CNOUS website (http://www.cnous.fr/).
- grants given out by the students country of origin: students should contact the State Education Department of their country for more information
- grants given out by international organizations and non governmental organizations: ask for the "Studies Abroad" guide put together by the UNESCO
Students must apply for grants at least one year in advance. Different types of grants can not be cummulated.
Once registered at SUPINFO, foreign students hold a French student status. They can then carrry-out paid internships in France during the course of their studies.
These internships last 3 months from the first to the fourth year of the studies and 6 months in the last year of studies.
As for French students, the amount of the remuneration for the internship is determined by the company and the student. Amounts can vary depending on the year of study and the company in which the internship is carried-out.
