To settle in London

Accomodation

Renting in London is very expensive. Rents are more often paid weekly than monthly. It is very common to house-share in London since prices are so high. Prices vary depending on the area you choose to live in: West London is far more expensive than East London. London is a very large city (about 10 times the size of Paris). The further you live from the centre, the cheaper the rent. For example, a flat-share in the centre can cost you £200 per week, while on the outskirts of London, you will pay around £50 per week. You must then allow for transportation costs which are dependant on how far you have to travel.

Good references to find a flat:
Check the following to help you in your house hunting:

Newspapers

The Loot. It is published several times per week and has a good classifieds’ column.
