The software will then open a simple command line interface for the user to interact with the machine it is connected to. You will be able to save sessions, making connection to the same machine faster and easier.
PuTTY is one simple and free to use way to connect to distant machines over a command line interface. It can be really useful, especialy to connect to machines or virtual machines that does not have a graphic interface and that are not always accessible.
